I can probably help you. I have appraised a number of 19th century Bibles. I will need more information before I can give you an estimate. Contact me at shirley.dyess2@verizon.net.

I have a BIBLE containing the old and new testaments, published in New York, by the American Bible Society, in 1881. Contained in Parenthesis is the words (Agate, 24mo). Is there any worth for this book? It's in excellent condition, w/the exception of the cover being a little worn. Please contact me regarding the same!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mary K. Mays
I'v been asked to evaluate a fore-edge Bible dated 1679 (London). It's in excellent condition for its age. The fore-edge painting is of 2 pelicans (supposedly symbolizing Christ) on either side of a heraldic shield. My friend bought it from a rare book dealer in 1988 and paid $2000 for it. It came out of an estate and has the previous owners bookplate pasted in the inside cover. Has its value appreciated significantly since '88? I am an ISA associate member and just registered for the member forum, but thought I'd use this forum while waiting for an admit to the official ISA site. Thanks.
My Mother has an old bible that is printed in German. It is a Martin Luther Edition printed in 1797. I would say that it is in good condition. It is leather bound with a latch to keep it closed. Aany idea of the value?
