It's an 1874 (stamped) bolt action rifle with numerous arsenal stamps on it from all over the world.
I want to sell it. What do I do?

Here in N.J. you must have a Federal Firearms licence to sell any gun or rifle other than black powder ones, which are considered antique. The easiest way to find out the information you need is to call to the local police department. If you are bound by those regulations you can place your rifle with an auctioneer or gun seller who possesses such a licence. Check our Directory of appraisers that might be near you, and I'm sure they can head you in the right direction.

I am an appraiser in Houston and would suggest that you contact Collector's Firearms here in Houston to see what you might have. The gentleman there is Mike Clark and I have worked with him for years. He is extremely honest and will help you. If you want to get to a gun auction, I can put you in touch with Greg Martin at Butterfield and Butterfield in San Francisco who does very large gun auctions. Hope this helps.
