For violins, violas and student models, Psarianos Violins in Troy, MI have been a great help. Selling new violins, violas, etc. is their primary activity, but they will take the time to give verbal appraisals of older violins.

Hello, I'm looking to find out what the value of my banjo might be worth. It is a Tenor - Recording B Ephiphone from the mid 20's, beautiful inlay work and is in excellent condition with the orginal case.

hello. I am trying to find out what the value is of a pre 1919 clifford essex banjo that I own.It has original doccumentation stating that mr.Essex himself has personaly inspected the instument prior to shipping, and is in its original case with a couple of original strings. It sounds nice but there is a very tiny puncture in the skin! (also original I presume!) I'm also curious about the fact that it has 3 tunning pegs on each side but only 5 strings are played. I can send pics of it e-mail for anyone who might be able to help me! thank you !!

Hello: I have a neighbor who has 26 antique violins that may be of very high value. He is interested in getting them appraised by an independent expert appraiser before he begins selling them. He sold one yesterday to an accomplished violin player who after she paid for it told him it was worth more than twice the $850 that she paid. Email me cazador@nnex.net if you have some ideas on how to help my neighbor. Thanks, John

ISA is made up of appraisers with expertise varying from furniture to locomotives...and there are some who specialize in musical instruments. I cannot recommend any since I do not know where you live. You can go to our national web site (www.isa-appraisers.org) and click the Search for an Appraiser link. From our on-line data base you can click "Music Instruements" in the Expertise box. Check with one of those specialists.

I have a House of Stathopoulo Super Wonder X tenor banjo which was gifted to me. I have been doing much research online trying to find some info out about this instrument, but thus far have only been able to find the A and B types. Is this a prototypical model? Furthermore, what is this thing worth and is anybody looking to purchase it?
