Romanian document from 1650 - about how much is it worth ?

International Society of Appraisers Forum: Public Forum: Antique Related Questions: Romanian document from 1650 - about how much is it worth ?

Hello

I have a romanian manuscript from 1650. It is in good condition and is signed by Matei Basarab, a romanian ruler of that time. I know I have to appraise it to find out its accurate value, but this costs about $200 and I don't know whether that's perhaps more than the document is worth itself. So I thought maybe somebody could give me a hint on the domain of the value - is it in the hundreds or in the thousands or what ? Maybe also tell me how to proceed best to sell the document. I also tried to find a romanian appraiser to tell me about the price in Romania, but it seems there is no such person. I cannot even find out if there is a private market in Romania for such items.

Thanks a lot.

Swans Auction Gallery sells documents and they have been helpful to me lately. You can find them on the internet.
