I have some sort of wooden printing blocks with brass stripping inlayed (very detailed)that I need help in identifying. I have mailed a gallery in Vienna, who I was referred to and they have not answered. Only one of this set of sixty-eight, has an ink stamped address on the back of it with Max Bettelheim and a Vienna address, along with the name of a company. All information is in German. I don't know if these fall into the Art or Antique category but I believe they were brought to the United States when my great grandmother imigrated here from Resicza, in 1890ish. Would or could someone point me in the right direction. I have searched on-line and not come up with anything. I am close to Wichita, Kansas and would make a trip to somewhere within driving distance, Kansas City, Houston, Dallas. Please Help! I really want to know what these are and of course if they are of any value. Thank you

They might be for fabric printing, I think I have seen metal blocks used for batik? Just a thought. Sara Conklin

Since posting this I have found a description for these as being blueprinting blocks possibly from the Slovakia area. Would appreciate any input from this information.
