Looking for who made it? Can anyone help

Pam
The mark doesn't ring any bells with me, and I can't identify it from your description. If it were possible to photograph the mark and post it here or send it to me I might be able to help you. The crown is used by many many American silver makers -- including the Crown Silver Company. Sometimes the design of the crown or to type letters in the box will lead to an identification.
Is the item sterling? Unless it is marked sterling or 925 then it is probably plated.
Since there is only one mark, it is probably American made. I wish I could help more!
