Dear All,
Somehow I am getting a number of messages with the ISA Forum shown and then the message is from something called the "Texas Hold em poker game."
It is very strange. In the last two days at least 200 messages have come over the line. Help!

I'm glad you stopped by our website and noticed our public forum. The purpose of the forum is to answer questions about ISA and/or help you learn someting about a particular item. Unfortunately we cannot do appraisals here. ISA appraisers usually need to see, feel, and research the item in order to give you a correct value. This is our business and of course you would expect there would be a fee involved. Please check our international data base at the left (SEARCH FOR AN APPRAISER) and find someone in your area. I'm sure they would be glad to help you with your appraisal need.

I inherited a 'locket' from my grandmother (who is now 90 yrs old) She received as a gift from James Deering (VP of International Harvestor around 1918) Owner and creator of Vizcaya, now the Dade County Museum. I believe the photo is of him as a child and the unusual aspect of the locket is the way you open it. The front has a two colors of metal which swirl towards the center. When you twist the outer rim the swirl patterns opens and is then recessed under the edge revealing the photo. The edge has small gems in it ruby and diamond perhaps. I have photos and am interested in determining the value of the item and finding out more about its origins and designer. My highly uneducated guess would be European. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Thanks

It seems as if you have a very beautiful locket!

One of the four specialty divisions in ISA is that for experts in Gems and Jewelry. I am sure one of these could help you, however it would really be necessary for them to see the locket to determine the metal content, the stones, etc.

I would suggest that you click Search For An Appraiser at the left and search our national database. You can enter the name of your city or one close by and look for those in Gems and Jewelry.

Good hunting!!!
