I have two items to identify. One is ivory, I think, & appears to be a sort of date book, measures approx 1.5 x 3 inches. I acquired it in England. It is made of 8 thin sheets of ivory, marked with the days of the week. The front and back surfaces are polished. These are connected with a silver rivet at one end, so that when opened, they fan out, and can rotate in a circle. The other end has a silver clasp. There is some writing in pencil on the pages, dated 1864.
The other item is a pair of heavy solid brass standing column lamps, quite ornate capitals, which have a center pole that can be extended upward, when a collar is loosened, to raise the light source. Appear to have been adapted to electric lights. Anyone know what they might have been originally?
