I would like to sell a Nishi & Co Geisha Doll with a glass display case. The note says
"Fujimusume" and she is carring Wisteria flowers.
She has material hands and feet. I don't believe her face is procelain but it is painted very beautiful and is some type bisquee or gofune ( not sure of the spelling)
The doll is in excellent condition. My husband purchased her in Japan while serving in the Navy.
She hasn't been out of her original box for over 36 years. She was purchased in l968
thanks,
Priscilla

2) 12" Fujimusume, 3) 15" unnamed in blk lacquer & glass case, 4) 16" Madam Butterfly, and 5) 12" Madam Butterfly - still in original packing and never unwrapped. I would like to insure this collection if the value is substantial. Is there a way to determine the value?
I have a vintage geisha doll in display case never been handled. I was told by a japanese man that the company that made this doll is no longer in business. He said that the doll was of very good quality. She is holding some type of head dress in her left hand . If you could give me some infor and maybe the price she is worth I would appreciate it.
I have 2 Nishi Kabuki dolls called Snow Queen and Cherry Blossom. Both are in their original glass cases with wood trim. They are 18 inches tall and in like new condition. I inherited them from my mother in law. They are beautiful but I have no idea of the value. They were purchased by her in the early 60's. I would appreciate any information.

I inherited a Nishi doll from my deceased sister whom received it (1965) as a gift from my father who was serving in the Vietnam War. The Geisha girl is wearing a lovely costume with a gold background silk boasting a floral design of red, green, white, purple, yellow colors. She has fashioned at her waist a red and gold "papoose carrier" with a white tie. Her bare feet need repairing but considering all she has been through over the years she is holding up well. How much value is she or where can I search for her value?
I have a vintage geisha doll inherited from grandma. she has nishi and company on bottom and is about 11 1/2 inches high with a musical base. Her hair and kimono are gold. any ideas on price? she is in good condition and the music does play music. Her umbrella is the only thing that is tattered.
I have a Nishi doll that is wearing pants. I found something similar that says it is a Nishi Oriental Lion Dancer? Could this be it? Is it worth anything?
I have a China Doll in a glass case that was given to me by my aunt. The doll is stunning and in perfect condition. I have no idea how old she is nor can I find any information on her. She was made by Nishi & Co. that is all I know. I was wondering if anyone could tell me more. I am curious if she is worth anything.
I have a doll very similar. I can't find much information on her at all. I purchased at a Goodwill store for $2.99. On the bottom it says NISHI & CO.,LTD. she is 16-17 inches tall and on the label at the base which is very aged and hard to read it says.... "Okaji".. "Okaji"is the name of a heroine in a famous Japanese love story which is taken from the Kabuki drama"" I can tell the doll is pretty old. But how old? I can't find anything. Even on the net every thing I find about her . everyone is asking how old their doll is. Any info? thanks email at SISKY25M@AOL.COM
My daughter has a Nishi & Co., Ltd. doll, Lady Wisteria, from the Kabuki drama. I believe she may be larger than those described by Brenda Harter and Rob Enochs in their posts but I'm not sure of this. She has been in storage for about six years. She was bought in Japan by a friend and sent to me for my daughter when she was an infant. This was in 1967. The doll is holding a wisteria branch and wears a red patterned kimono with a wide black band at the waist and a black umbrella-shaped hat trimmed in gold. The stand is natural wood with wood trim around the edge.

I have a 19" high geisha doll that is a music box. She plays Japanese tradtional, "Kojo no Tsuki" (roughly translated as Moon over Castle Ruins). I'm looking for any/all information. She is in great condtion - only missing the umbrella.
On www.trocadero.com, a free antiques and collectibles site, you can search for dolls under the category "Japanese dolls". Within that category, there are many Japanese dolls listed. A major source for dolls on that site is JDoll Collector. I hope this helps all of you seeking information in this field!

I've seen the different Nishi geisha dolls, mine is so very similar, however there is a tag under the black laquered stand that says Ucagco Japan.
She's holding a birdcage. I couldn't find anything on trocadero.com nor do I know where else to find info on her. I would very much appreciate it if someone could give me any information.
