Duchess is one of the styles of hollowware Gorham produced in the Chantilly pattern. The sticker would indicate a mid 20th century production. The number 1309 could not be a date since Gorham (trademark lion, anchor, G) was started in 1865.
The number is a production or "re-order" number.
The market value of a single b & B plate is not large. Usually they can be found on E-bay or internet markets for $50 to $75. I'll email you this answer too.

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I have a Gorham Chantilly-Duchess bread and butter plate but am unsure if it's old and worth more. Replacements Ltd says new ones are worth about $129. They say however that all plates of this kind have a 738 number on the back. Mine does not. I have a YC 1309. Can someone tell me is that a year, or a production #? Plus it has it's original Red Gorham Silver Original Sticker on the back. Any help would be appreciated. Am looking to ebay but want to know real value. Email me at Ripleyip@AOL.COM as I might not remember to check back to this forum. Thanks!
