Hello, my name is Debbie Haas .... My mother-in-law, Shirley Haas, has a painting that she picked up in Madrid, Spain in 1964....It is a painting of Beatrice Cenci .We are trying to find out as much as we can about it ... The painting was restored in 1965 by Nelson Galleries in Kansas City, Kansas. Also at that time they thought it to be the work of either Guido Reni or Elisabetta Sirani .While Nelson Galleries was restoring the painting, they contacted Italy to verify that the original was still there. I do hope that you can help us authenticate the painting.
My e-mail is foureverluved152@yahoo.com, my Phone number is 901- 210-1658 we live in Memphis, Tennesse of the U.S.
I appreciate you helping me clear this matter.
Debbie Haas
Authenticators are special beings and I doubt thay anyone from our appraiser group can do the authentican -- but, hopefully, somebody can help you find that qualified person. Sounds like an interesting project.
There are fine art appraisers that can undertake a project of this sort. Whether they are authenticators is not important because they can hire anyone they need for their determinations. The question really is what are you trying to do... Are you trying to appraise the piece for potential sale... are you trying to authenticate the piece so that you can insure it properly.. you mentioned a mother-in-law.. is this for separation of property for divorce?? Depending on what you are trying to do and what your budget is to get to where you want, I would make different recommendations. JB
